Welcome to the CAPFAA Newsletter
E-mail Print

Greetings from the Newsletter Committee! We hope that this July edition finds you keeping cool both in and out of the office.  Check out the Member News section which highlights some of the ways our colleagues celebrate the summer holidays with patriotic spirit, nostalgia, first-rate food, and good company.

Our 2010-2011 President, Jennifer Fuhrmann, has delivered a message to the membership urging increased involvement (see President’s Message). Please answer her call and those of the committee chairs in the Committee Updates section of this newsletter. The result of the voting at the June 2nd CAPFAA Annual Business Meeting revealed that members want CAPFAA to remain an organization run by financial aid administrators. In order for this to happen, and for CAPFAA to continue to offer comprehensive professional support to the membership, we need more volunteers. Please support CAPFAA in any way you can.

On the regulatory front, many changes to federal aid programs have recently been enacted. CAPFAA members have responded with excellent contributions to our Rules and Regs section, summarizing some new requirements and proposals. Don’t forget to read the recently-published Program Integrity NPRM. Just a reminder: the CAPFAA Federal/State Relations Committee is compiling feedback on the NPRM. Please forward your comments to Michelle Cochran by July 23rd so she may send them to ED by the August response deadline.

As you gear up for the start of another academic year, don’t forget to check out the great information in the General Articles, EASFAA/NASFAA News, Bulletin Board (with upcoming important dates), and Introducing Our Members sections.

May the air conditioning in your cars, offices, and homes run uninterrupted for the rest of the summer…

Sincerely,

The CAPFAA Newsletter Committee
